My Field Notes Notebook Collection Fall 2015 & New Edition Suggestion

With the release of the new Field Notes Winter 2015 Snowblind Edition, I decided to get all my Field Notes together and do an updated collection picture.

I have also included my humble suggestion for a new edition at the end.

What started out as a goal to always have a notebook on or near me has turned into a rather large collection.

I started buying Field Notes because I loved the idea behind their product and to support an American small business. As they continue to make new editions every quarter, I end up buying every new release because they continue to surprise me.

I really enjoyed this set. Previously my favorite Field Notes sets have been any that included green books as well as the real wood covered Shelterwood edition.

Adventure Reading - Field Tested Books

Some deep thinking for this Sunday.

The company behind Field Notes, of which you know I'm a fan, has come up with the idea to test the theory that books and place affect one another.  Meaning where you read a book has just as much of an affect on your feelings about the book and what you feel while reading the content of the book as the book itself does.

I like that idea and it immediately made me realize that I can picture my surroundings the majority of the time while I read each book I have ever read.  Thus, in my mind, proving the theory.  Try it yourself, think of one of your favorite books and not only does the content of the book come to mind, but to me the place appears also.  This is greatly related to this blog because I am a fan of both travel and books among many other things.

Gear up for that Road Trip.  As I have said before, having notebooks with you on a trip is one of the best ways to document the trip in writing about how you feel when you are there.  Sometimes it is hard to capture that with pictures alone.

Doane Paper Utility Notebooks

Another new pocket notebook has come out recently and like I said before, taking notes on your trip is as important as pictures to help you remember how you felt on your outings.   As well as the hundreds of other uses for these pocket-sized books.

Doane Paper, a West Coast American paper company, has some quality offerings in the pocket notebook lineup and this new pocket utility notebook with crossover cover art is a pretty unique one.

From what I gather, their paper has both lines and a graph on each page so no decision about that is necessary. 

I like the look of the vintage cover art and the color.  I might jump out and get one for myself in the next couple weeks.  I will let you know if I do.
